K.J. Gaston, founder and host of ALMD, is an 8 year-old student in Detroit Public School Community District.  Born and raised in Detroit, she is an avid reader, slime enthusiast and artist.   She enjoys many sports including tennis, gymnastics and basketball.

Math and science are her two favorite subjects in school and when she is older she is interested in pursing careers as a biomedical engineer, chef, occasional author and illustrator.

According to KJ, she hopes her podcast "inspires kids to put in the time

and effort to make their ideas  bigger and brighter."  

 

She is loved and supported by her parents, Shannon and Khalilah, along

with her baby sister, Kamryn, and a host of family members, friends and

mentors in all her endeavors- both big and small.
